I am trying to get a good cpu/mobo/ram/videocard upgrade for 1000 or under.

my specs right now are

P4a 2.0 Ghz
1 gig Corsair xms pc2700
some crappy mobo.
and radion 9800XT.

I am thinking about,

the A64 X2 3800+
2 gig of ram.
the newest best gaming/oc mobo (assuming it is DFI lan party ultra)
and 7900 GTX

my question is, what ram speed and mobo should I get for optimal performance?
and I may need to upgrade my psu but I am not sure.
Right now I have a antex true power I think 400W. its been a while since I bought it.

so what do you suggest?

thanks

2GB of value PC3200. Even if you OC RAM dividers will let you use the cheapest RAM that can be run on that motherboard (DFI is very tempramental about what RAM it will use, Asus has some boards that are equally good for overclocking).

The budget option is the 450W fortron for $50 or any good brand name 450W PSU. (Some 400W PSUs should be able to handle that too).

still with 500+watts for your high end system, u dont want to cheap out on your psu. with dfiboard dont use any brand of 'value' ram dfi lanparty boards just dont work with them
