Getting a video file from a flash player?

Is it possible to get a video file (like wmv) from a flash player on a website (ex: like the type on youtube)? I'm sure it is since it gets streamed to my computer. I just don't know how (I'm just a n00b when it comes to this type of stuff).

Btw, ATOT is probably not the right forum for this but none of the others seem to fit. "Video" seems to be about graphics cards and stuff and "Technical Support" is about computer problems.
 
There is a Firefox plugin, but I dunno the name. Saves them as flv or something (then you can convert them to something else, or play them as they are, but offline).
