$100 CAD is like $.20 US. Just send them a blank envelope because the postage to ship it costs more than the ticket.

Nah, just round it up to a quarter and tell them to keep the change.

Pfft. Your Dollar continues to fall.

It will never show up on your record. Just tear it up.

Speeding tickets stay in the system for two years after that its like it never happened.
So if you don't plan on getting pulled over in Canada in the next two yrs don't pay it ,if you do travel up here. You will want to pay it.

if you dont pay it and travel back to canada and get caught speeding or other traffic violation or if somebody hits you and the RCMP are called you will go to jail just like you would here in the US for not paying.

it wont show up on your insurance, so just pay it and forget about it.

Bad advice. Nowehere in Canada does the ticket "disappear" after 2 years. Maybe in the 50-60s before they had computers to track it, but not anytime in the semi-recent past. I didn't pay a ticket in Alberta I got in 1994. When I came back in 2000 I had to pay it.

Feel free to ignore it though. *IF* you get caught speeding again later you may be off to pound me in the a$$ prison, but more likely get towed and forced to pay the fine before it's released, depending on here you were caught.

I was coming back from Toronto towards Michigan and I get caught for speeding about 20 minutes away from the bridge. I was clocked at going 130km/hr in a 100km/hr zone. I was going about 80mph.

The cop gives me a ticket and writes down 120km/hr in a 100km/hr zone and tells me the ticket fee is 100 bucks and lets me go.

Will this ticket show up on my record if I hold a Michigan license and will my insurance ever find out about this? I will probably end up paying because it is only 100 Canadian and I go to Canada often enough that I don't want any extra hassles.

Pay it or get a radar detector, shame on you for getting caught.

Careful... radar detectors are illegal in some provinces

Some States too.

i used to be a contractor, we worked in europe a lot and rented cars. whenever anyone would get a parking ticket, they would just shove it under the driver seat or into the glove box

nobody ever got a bill or anything
i don't think anyone ever got a speeding ticket that i heard of

There are only 2 places that New Yorkers get points. Ontario and Quebec. Get caught there and points go on your license.
However if you fail to pay a ticket anywhere, you will wish you had.
I could get caught doing 85 in Mass and so long as I pay the ticket I don't have to worry about anything.
