I'm looking to buy an item from this person that lives in Vancouver, BC Canada. and would like to know the diff. shipping options from Canada to the US.

He says the shipping method would be Post shipping?? What's the equivalent to this for the US? Media Mail? Parcel Post? I want to make sure I get good shipping + insurance and what to ask for in the upgrade in shipping.

The item he says will cost around $40.00 shipped via Post shipping.

Question: when asking for the equivalent to the US Priority+Insurance shipping method from Canada should I ask him to send by and what will it add to the $40.00? An Approximate will be good enough.

I've received items from Canada via "canada post" (canadapost.ca) and it arrives in 4-7 days depending on where the weekend falls. delivered to your post box via USPS once it crosses the border

Priority would be Xpresspost

It would be probably 33-50% more.

Post moves a LOT slower in Canada, and is SIGNIFICANTLY more expensive.
