hello...well near the end of this month...I'm gonna build my new computer and I was just wondering what video card I should get....I was looking at the Kyro II and it's impressive....but what about the GeForce 2 GTS? I want something that will last me but isn't more than $150...thanks for any suggestions...

Have you thought about a 64MB DDR-SDRAM Radeon? Dabson likes it so it must be good (yeah, right.)
I'm a 3dfx man as I have the Voodoo5-5500 AGP and am quite happy with it but, alas, it has no driver support so its life-span is limited. You could pick one up for cheap.

The PowerVR KyroII looks impressive as it's a Tile-based renderer. I think this would be a good choice for you as it's inexpensive but it has no Hardware T@L support.

The GeForce2 GTS is an excellent choice (I can't believe I just said that!) and the prices are dropping to an affordable level now that nVidia focuses on the GeForce3. This would be my pick (I don't believe I just said that, too!). The best Hardware T@L right now and very overclockable.

Geforce is the way to go, I learned that the hard way (scarred Radeon user)

My next video card upgrade will almost certainly be a Kyro2. The price/performance/features of this card are nothing short of amazing.

Well, there are 3 64 MB cards you can buy for ~$150. I have had the Radeon VIVO 64 MB for about 6 months now, no problems (for me) in Win2k or Win98. The Voodoo 5 is the cheapest, though it's really only 32 MB and there won't be too many driver updates. The Kyro II seems to be pretty good, though no one really has one, so you would have to go by the reviews online.
