Getting A New Mobo

Ok due to the fact I'm in college and I'm going to be building my next computer part for part I just got a good business deal that leaves me with roughly 300 bucks for a new mobo. I am planning on down the road using crossfireX (2 4850, 4870, 4870x2). I am not sure If im going to buy into the whole ddr3 scheme yet, just doesn't seem to be that valuable except if you want to run a 1:1 ratio with your fsb and cpu. I plan on getting a E8400/E8500 so there is that. Im looking for something good for an enthusiast. Also does anyone know if there is a relatively big difference between running CrossFireX in 8x-8x, than 16x-16x?

DDR3 is a waste of money for socket 775, just don't do it unless you plan to use your computer solely for running memory benchmarks all day. Everything else will run at the same speed as using DDR2 for half the cost.

4870x2 does not need a crossfire board. You could save $120 and buy a P5Q Pro instead. You can get it with the E8400 for $305 using one of the combo deals listed for the P5Q Pro at newegg.

Sway this. 1600 DDR3 2x2Gb sticks 350$ for some good IC's and timings that's way more than anyone should spend on memory... i know cause i did... but I'm not in school...
