dx 10 and I assume fast as well 189 bucks at newegg.

I'd hold off on the 8600 purchases for now. Poor relative DX9 performance for the price and no immediate need for DX10 compatibility. Saw a thread for a $230ish 320MB 8800 GTS in the Hot Deals thread which would be a much better buy, otherwise I'd wait to see what the HD 2900XT brings in terms of performance and price drops on other parts.

i was actually offered an 8600gts on an ebay auction new for $149 + shipping and i think the raeson is no one is buying them. so maybe it woudl be wise to wait, as they are pretty bad dx9 cards for the money and dx10 games are non existant.
you'd probably be better off getting a 7900gs for really cheap and pocketing the money or a 7900gt

The 8600gts should sell for no more than $150 to be competitive in performance with other cards. The 8800gts 320mb currently offers much better performance for a relatively small increase in price. Otherwise, just wait a few weeks until the prices drop on the 8600 series.
