getting a new AIW card, so i have a few questions

im switching from a gf3 to an AIW 8500DV. is it still recommended to reformat and fresh install when switching brands? i have no problem backing up the important stuff on my drive, so a reinstall wont be a problem, but if its not really necessary, i wont.

also, i was wondering how much space capturing movies and such will take. for example a 30 min show and a 2 hour movie. i have a 40 gig drive, and dont plan on recording massive amounts of stuff, but id like to have a ballpark figure on how much space i should partition just for the purpose of capturing should i decide to reformat.

thanks in advance.

You should at least uninstall the nvidia drivers, but as for a reformat and fresh install, it's not really necessary (may be nice though)

I capture video with my AIW 9600 pro in quarter resolution (320x240) in mpg format, and each hour is ~1.2GB
