Getting a loaner car for Honda air bag recalls

Has anyone succeeded in getting a loaner? Are they obligated to give me a loaner until the part is replaced?

i called the dealer and they tell me it's 30-90 days. I dont feel comfortable having my pregnant wife driving our CRV. A new report suggests ppl not drive their cars, but that article seems to suggest older model cars (ours is a 2011 CRV). I plan on calling the dealer later today and speak w/ a manager regarding this.

I don't trust the air bags and if something were to happen I would not be happy to say the least.

You might get one if it was still under the warranty period. But depending on the dealer and how you ask them, for goodwill, they may give you a loaner.

I've heard of several people getting loaners from Honda - I wouldn't expect you to have a problem. You have the pregnant wife card to play if needed.

My sister-in-law was able to get a rental while she waits for the airbag for her '08 Ridgeline. She has had the rental for over two months now.

Well that was easy. Got a loaner except it's coming from enterprise. I was hoping for another SUV but I cant complain if it's all going to be paid for.

Glad Honda gave you a loaner for free. The other poster just above, said Honda provided a rental for his sister-in-law, but it did not say if Honda was picking up the rental fee (hope they would)

And another reason to buy Honda. Coworker had the ignition recall with a Chevy and got the don't drive or you may die letter, BUT it may take six months before we can get to your car. No loaner.

Yes, Honda is picking up the tab. Coincidentally, the Honda dealer called her today and informed her that the parts are in to replace her Ridgeline airbags.
