Getting a Geforce3, which brand?

What is the best brand of a Geforce3? Is there a speed difference? Because, I was looking into a Geforce3 (Gainward) from Newegg for $283 + Free Shipping

Or do you guys know anything better for under $290, I don't need TVOut or DVI

Wait until Monday when the new NVidia cards come out, or Tuesday when the new ATI cards come out. Then make a decision.

Leadtek makes great cards IMHO. They usually run the fastest vRAM on the market and have a decent cooling module. After reading reviews on GF3 cards, the Leadtek was at or near the top in terms of performance. Also, the tweaking apps are a nice feature. If you are into TV-out or have a LCD monitor, they provide that with most of their upper-end cards. Good Luck! 😀

Elsa is another good choice in the GF3 range,but you might want to wait for the Ti series to appear before making a final choice.

I am also looking at a decent graphics card. Narrowed it down to the Gainward Powerpack GeForce3 or the Leadtek GeForce3.
The Gainward has all the extras like VIVO, TV out, DVI out and is also the best at 2D.
Leadtek has TV out, DVI, has better cooling than Gainward so will hit higher speeds. It also came top in all benchmarks with the Gainward not far behind.
You don't get any games with these cards.
The new GeForce Ultra (or whatever is called) will be great, but aint gona be cheap. Not too sure when it is out. I think I might wait and see how the Radion 8500 compares to the new GeForce3, then decide. Hopefully standard GeForce3 prices will drop so another good reason to hang on.

happy owner of a gainward cardexpert no dvi etc. great performance, no cooling problems. im sure the powerpack would fare exceptionally as well. yea, the gf3 ultras arne't gonna be pocket change. and 78 fps in UT at 1600x1200 no oc is fine enough for me (thx detonatorxps!)

EDIT: sorry u werent looking for a powerpack. i have the regular one (283) from newegg. easy to justify at that price, especially if u can get the rest of your system for cheap. i would say get the gf3 after mon if thats when the ultras get out, cuz newegg might lower prices even further. but whenever you do, you will not regret getting a gf3.
