Getting a DSL modem - what features are important?

An on/off switch so when your ISP craps out you dont have to unplug it, just shut it off and turn it back on. 🙂
 
If you are ever going to have more than 1 computer, I would definitely get an external, Ethernet connected one.
 
Make sure is external and has ethernet connectors so you want have to worry about drivers if you use a different OS then Windows.
