AMD Athlon 64 3700+ Processor S939 San Diego 2.2GHZ 1MB L2 Cache 90NM Retail Box

I dont need much features.. good sound would be good, dont need lan or anything
also, a mb that can be used to overclock would be nice =)

also i was thinking of getting a faster hd than my current 7200 rpm one.. which would u suggest (and would work with the mb? )

All depends, budget and are you overclocking?

If low budget and not overclocking I'd go for a Chaintech VNF4 Ultra, if you want to overclock with a big budget then DFI lanparty nf4 :). Not saying these two mobos only choice though.

Other good boards are the MSI K8N Neo4 Ultra, Asus A8N-E, and EPoX EP-9NPA+ Ultra (AT Gold Editor's Choice).

Hardrives for 939.
Just look for the features and sound that you want and go from there.

Fastest single hardrive.

Omg waste of money... You just wasted $130 for like a couple seconds difference in loading time... An 80GB 7200RPM drive only costs $50. You could have used the money on a better video card, more RAM, better CPU, etc, all which would have given you a better performance increase...

Some good mobos to check out:

[*]DFI Lanparty Ultra-D - OCing monster; requires a lot of tweaking though.
[*]Epox 9NPA+ Ultra - best price/performance mobo out there for OCing.
[*]Abit AN8 Ultra - passively cooled; OCs very well
[*]MSI Neo4 Platinum - the mobo features king; pricey, but OCs well
[*]MSI Neo4-F - very cheap; good for budget OCing; no IEEE1394 though

Side bar: What made you choose the 3700+ over a 3200+ venice? Seemed like there was very little performance difference, especially if you overclock. I was debating between the two and ended up ordering the 3200+ today (and the msi neo4 sli btw).

The new E6 Venices don't OC well, so getting a SD might be a good way to ensure you don't get stuck with one of the newer E6s, since it's hard to know which you're getting at most e-tailers.

I second that because i have a raptor and since your hard drive is the slowest part in your system it doesnt hurt to get something faster if you can afford it.

I would stay away from the Asus-a8n SLi-deluxe...too many complaints on the forum, this may sound biased, but go for the DFI :)

Think again sir, I have two Raptors (not in a raid config), when I bought mine they were quite a bit faster then any of the 7200 drives out on the market. The new 7200 drives that are out now though are not really any slower at all, you would never be able to tell the diference between a Raptor and a nice new 7200 Seagate or Hitachi drive.

For the Motherboard.

Epox if you want the best bang for the buck.
DFI if you want the best overclocker.

Those are the choices I would consider.
