Since last night,i have been toying with some overclocking functions with the following set up....

Intel X79TO motherboard
4x2gb gskill jsaw 1600mhz ddr3 quad certified
3930k

The board seems a bit different then your typical asus or gigabyte, theres two preoverclocked settings, one is applying a high vcore of 1.34v and a average load is taking the 4ghz clock and dropping it to 3.6ghz with higher then desired temps while the second is applying a 125 bus speed or base clock and leaving the multi at 32x,while keeping the vcore around 1.19v during load while not dipping to 3.6ghz.

Would the second profile be pretty much a suitable overclock with the 125 base clock and the 32x multi?I ran cinebenech 11.5 and intelburn with perfect stability, soon to run prime95 but making sure i am on the right track.:)

2nd profile should be fine. At 4ghz, I doubt you need more voltage. I had a lot of luck upping the base freq on mine.

Yeah,i have been running prime95 and intelburn for the majority of the day as well as some games, its been perfectly stable so i think it will be fine and i will leave it as is.

As i figured i would be keeping this chip near stock voltage,i got the stock air cooler and even with AS5 freshly applied, its not budging over 80cel full load with prime95,still on the fence if this is a acceptable temp or should i beef up the cooling.

I would beef up the cooling, even just to keep temps lower and the overall system more quiet. The CM 212 is a great budget option, while the Noctua NH-D14 is an amazing cooler that can be configured for high cooling or almost silent running. The former can be found for $20-25 and the latter is $60-70. Good luck and enjoy!
