Getting 2 NVidia cards to "play nice"

I've been trying to get decent OpenGL acceleration on my dual monitor setup. My primary card is a GF2 GTS. After playing around with old cards (an old matrox millenium and a generic s3 thing), I decided maybe I should go for a PCI GF2 MX (I thought that similar chipsets/drivers might actually allow me to run LightWave reasonably).
It seems to be OK for general 2D stuff but it just can't do any 3D on the MX (it's hung a couple of times). I'm running an Athlon (classic) on an Asus K7V under Win2K with plenty o' RAM. Does any one have any ideas? I've tried updating both the VIA (4 in 1 25a) chipset and nVidia ref. (6.31 & 7.10) drivers, but no joy. Either the program doesn't display properly or doesn't start up fully/crashes to desktop. I'm sure this should work.

A lot of things will only run on your primary monitor.
Games, Overlays...it wouldn't surprise me if pro3D apps were as well.

Maybe you know that, and that it's not your problem...if you do well then *bump* 😉

Get this. I did a reinstall believing that maybe win2k's ACPI services need to gang IRQs was to blame (me desperate? hell no), so I disabled it. I found that I can get the secondary display to run OpenGL, but only if the primary is in 8bit colour.
I switch primary and secondary around and it still seemed to happen. This seems to be a driver thing. But I'm getting somewhere, just not fast.
Thanx for the thoughts.

I read somewhere that this might be the only way to do it (the 2 Nvid cards to get full accel, I mean).
He he! If nothing else I've got something to work on over the weekend, as my deadlines aren't to bad on work at the moment.😀
