I've been trying to get decent OpenGL acceleration on my dual monitor setup. My primary card is a GF2 GTS. After playing around with old cards (an old matrox millenium and a generic s3 thing), I decided maybe I should go for a PCI GF2 MX (I thought that similar chipsets/drivers might actually allow me to run LightWave reasonably).
It seems to be OK for general 2D stuff but it just can't do any 3D on the MX (it's hung a couple of times). I'm running an Athlon (classic) on an Asus K7V under Win2K with plenty o' RAM. Does any one have any ideas? I've tried updating both the VIA (4 in 1 25a) chipset and nVidia ref. (6.31 & 7.10) drivers, but no joy. Either the program doesn't display properly or doesn't start up fully/crashes to desktop. I'm sure this should work.
