Getting 1st Credit Card

I have a co-worker that needs a credit card. His first credit card in fact.
He has no credit history.
oh also he is not a student, I dont know if that matters.
Where could he look online for a good start up credit card, say $500-$1000 Limit.

credit cards are easy to get...they want you to spend their money. I was able to get a citicard without a job...

He tried to get a Dell Laptop $600 about two weeks ago. He was denied. He was going to try getting the loan through a co-signer but Dell said no.

Try one of those gas cards. I just got one, and my credit is piss poor. I'm in the process of rebuilding it. I had a 13 month layoff , so all of my credit went to $hit back in 2002.

Does it have to be used for Gas? He doesnt have a car.

local bank -> $500 secured credit card. 1 year later -> apply for something good.

Yes.. most of the time.. You use them at the gas stations that gave you the card.. such as... Texaco.. Chevron.. Citgo, Shell.. etc..
The Texaco/Chevron card I just got allows you to purchase stuff through their website.. But other than that, that is it.. its a gas card, with the Mastercard logo..
