I posted this in teh video forum too, but i know GH gets a lot more traffic.
I have a Viewsonic 19" PF790 that is starting to make a high pitch noise when you run at 75hz (no idea why). Took it into Best Buy where I happened to have bought the 3 year service plan. They are going to swap it out, but since the best CRT they have sux (only 1280x1024 res probably around 60 or 75hz). I am going to upgrade to an LCD. The bad thing is, the only two that I can get an even exchange for are the Viewsonic VA720 (dont think i'll get this) or the Samsung 171V. I can get these as an almost even swap. If i want to put money in, I can get teh mitsubishi NX85LCD-BK 18.1" LCD, or the Samsung 191T. Anyone know if these two monitors are good, and is the Samsung 171V ok? I play some games mainly CS, but would like something easier on the eyes. I also have the comp in my room so I watch movies on it from time to time. I also do not yet have DVI, and since I'm hoping there will be a new standard soon, DVI is not a requirement. 2 Analog (or one Analog and one DVI input would be cool though).
Thanks.
