I just got back from the TXGF after speaking with the Sapphire reps. They were NOT HAPPY that this is below what they are getting for their bulk cards on NewEgg. There will be emails flying and expect ATI to act as they will be meeting later today. ATI or CompUSA undercut Sapphire on the price jump with this before they were supposed to. Picking this up at the store for MSRP is TOO GOOD TO PASS UP! Although I told the Sapphire girl (cute) that I could wait 2 weeks for this to get worked out, I really think I should go get 3 and sell them in a hurry.

Good deal for BBA card if you're in the market for one.
 
BBA=Built By ATI
PBA=Powered By ATI

Both terms are pretty much a legacy since the time when separate set of drivers were needed for BBA and PBA cards. Pretty low on ATI end, good thing they changed their policy.
 
about frigging time. only 1 and a half months late folks(that's sad when this is considered impressive for a new release these days...)!
 
Mine also had the $499 Visiontek X850XT in stock. He brought both out, and I had the urge to snatch it and run out the door 🙁 Instead, I settled for the x800xl.

nah, ive been geforce man on forums for years, its from when i got my first 3d accelerator, the geforce 256 DDR, i will never lose the name 🙂 i love the thing to death, still have it, still works. ive owned:

geforce 256 DDR
geforce 3 ti 200
ati radeon 8500le
ati radeon 9500pro
ati radeon 9700np
ati radeon 9500np softy x2
ati radeon 9800np
Nvidia TNT ultra
geforce 3 ti 200 numero 2
geforce 6800 ultra
geforce 6600 vanilla
and now radeon x800xl

almost all of them are gone, sans the geforce 1, and 3's, the 6800 gone, 6600 soon to be gone, and all the radeons but the xl are gone

X800XL performs better because it has full 16 pipelines. And no, it's not available in AGP.
