Yes, but Spidey also works for the telco's in some indirect fashion and enjoys screwing consumers and encouraging monopolistic practices while his wife works for the government probably doing nothing and collecting north of 6 figures if I recall correctly.

Spidey is beyond worthless.

Part of that sounds like me. Especially when the wife worked for the Congressman sans the 6 figures (under $40K).

Yeah, people stealing from corporations doesn't affect anyone else. They certainly don't pass those costs onto those of us who don't steal, or create irritating and ridiculous policies which make life a big pain for everyone. /giganticeyeroll

Your lack of understanding of the situation is complete. You're only embarrassing yourself.
 
Those signs that say no receipt get a free meal bother me, because that tells me that the manager or owner suspects his employees of stealing and is too cheap to put in an overhead camera to watch the register or pay better salaries. I’m not suggesting that low salaries justifies theft, but with a surplus of employees it causes some employers to lower their salary range as they know people are desperate and will work for a barely anything.

The first thing I thought of was to prevent employee theft. I was just not sure if there was some other, consumer-centric, reason.

And that is why I explained exactly how it's done. Very easy if the order simply isn't put on the register. At least with burger places they can track patties and buns. The places you listed it would be hard to get accurate waste count.

On drive through I'd tell them how much and just keep the money, never ringing it up. You had to be careful and not go overboard or else the product shortages would show up. Didn't want my drawer to be off, and it never was. *wink* An extra 10-20 bucks a day back then was decent coin. Equivalent to 6 hours of work.

My first job was in fast food. Never skimmed, but, one of the guys I worked with was, it was pretty obvious, and he was a dumbass, but it took the management a couple of months to figure it out...

Anyhow, working in fast food sucks, and the pay is much to low for the work.

Yes, I was a budding capitalist even in my early years. Don't hate the player or the game, just play it. It's all just a game.

The lesson I learned is if you want to game the system in your favor then you must be in charge of the checks and balances. It was my first lesson in "acceptable loss". And remember, everything in life can be measured by profit and loss. When you control both, you have won the game.
