I frequent places like Panda Express and La Salsa. Many of these fast food places have a "Get your receipt or your meal is free" rule.

Why is giving a receipt such a big deal?

It's like getting a lifetime guarantee for a piece of crap product, it makes the customer feel better.

So the cashier doesn't pocket the $? The receipt would force them to key in the transaction and there is a record, if the register comes up short they'd know someone is skimming?

Seemed like one of those things that they try to make it sound like a good customer service thing when really it is not.

It puts the burden on the customer really. If you want a $20 meal and the cashier offers it for $10, you'd be inclined to accept the skimming. But if it may be free without a receipt, you are more likely to turn them in.

When I worked at BK in my teens I knew exactly what certain items would cost, so if somebody ordered a whopper, med fries and a med drink, I knew it would be 3.47. On drive through I'd tell them how much and just keep the money, never ringing it up. You had to be careful and not go overboard or else the product shortages would show up. It didn't hurt that I was also in charge of how much waste product we had that day.

Didn't want my drawer to be off, and it never was. *wink* An extra 10-20 bucks a day back then was decent coin. Equivalent to 6 hours of work.

So they can ask to see your receipt before you leave?

It works out good for me. I like to keep my receipts so I can go over my credit card bill and make sure I actually bought everything. I use my CC like a debit card and pay it off monthly, so without receipts I would have no easy to way to gauge my monthly spending and catch fraud.

I hate that some places seem to think just because I used a credit card, I don't want my receipt. They get all huffy when I ask for it. The local subway is like this. I go there 3 times a week and every time I have to ask, and every time the same stupid girl gets pissy about it.

So Spidey is morally bankrupt. Why is this not surprising news?

but come the fuck on... it was in his teens... all you people calling him out, you all never did any "scumbag" thing when you were a teen?

For me, it is not so much what he did then, but his attitude about it now.

So he's supposed to beg for your forgiveness now? Seriously, grow up. What he did was wrong, and I'm sure he's aware. Whether or not he cares about it is his problem, not yours. Why do people try to police each other so much here?

He may not have sounded remorseful (and really, why the fuck does it matter), but he didn't sound like he was bragging either. Just sounded like he was telling a story, albeit a stupid story.

Not only did he not sound remorseful, he sounded proud about what he did. That's the problem.

Don't forget that spidey07 is ok with airlines losing your luggage because it's a private business and you agreed to let them. He was a genius little capitalist piggy entrepreneur even in his teens.
