Just hit 7865 on the 3D Mark... Here is my rig:

AMD 3700+ ASUS A8n SLI (Overclocked to 2.75 Ghz)
1 Gig of Corsair Value Ram
XFX 7800 GT (Overclocked to 494, 1100)
Cooler Master PSU 450 Watt
Cooler Master case
Audigy 2

CPU Temp Load (using Prime95) = 59
GPU Temp Load (Using Video Card Stress Test) = 59

2 Antec 120mm fans front and back
The rest are stock cooling...

Question is... I must have great cooling for those temps or something is broken... No crashing (Yet)

So what's the point of this thread? I'm sure you're having fun but i don't see what your point is.

For the record my XFX 7800GT would hit around 72*C with CPU and GPU at peak loads with the stock cooler when overclocked to 500/1240.

If you read the thread title, I think the OP just wanted opinions on his 3DMark scores.

Doesn't quite tally with the question in the body of the text then:

"Question is... I must have great cooling for those temps or something is broken... No crashing (Yet) "

Which is silly 😛

Yes, those are the right range of numbers for a 7800GT slightly OC'd.

Ok... whats the max Overclocking that you have seen with the 7800GT and what should the temps be?

I was trying to level set my expectation on the 3DMark...

I see, your numbers are in the region that mine were when not overclocked. I've seen some with clocks approaching 520/1300 but those were ridiculously high. Temps generally should stay below 70*C, but it depends on what tempertature your card starts artifacting at.

I'd download rivatuner btw. I found that the fan on my XFX never span up to full speed.

What MoBo are you using??? I'm running nearly the exact same setup (3700+ OC to 2.75, xfx 7800GT) and I get a 7249 in 3dmark05. I even have the same stinkin PSU!!! Motherboard is asus A8N-SLI deluxe, and mushkin RAM timings are 2.5-4-3-7 1T.

And I have a 120mm rear exhaust, 90mm intake, and an 80mm hovering over my RAM (2x512 mushkin have the open-top heatspreaders) and I get 48C under load (prime95). I also have my CPU voltage tuned to 1.475v, hoping to go lower once I get a chance to mess with it more. What's your voltage at to get your CPU temps so high?

I did that and noticed that the fan was never spinning up also to full speed..but I did notice that when at full speed that the temps only lowered roughly 1 to 2 degrees. Most likely the fan is spinning faster then its optimal volume can handle based on the size of the fins and angle.

Im going to order the Zalman VGA cooler... Question, I know of people who have used a 3 pin to 2 pin converter to plug this cooler directly into the video card. My concern would be the amount of voltage (12 volts) and watts being draw by the fan. Do you think that the video card could handle that size fan if plugged directly into the video card... Im afraid of frying that component on the video card. I would like to manage the fan via software rather then full blast all the time.

Thanks

Doesn't 3DMark come with a feature that allows one to compare his/her score with similar systems? Wouldn't that be more useful than asking for a subjective opinion on your score by a buch of random forum members?

I also thought it was weird he didn't respond to my post- if he was actually looking for input on his score then I'd be the best possible person to compare with given my similar setup. Oh well.

didnt see your reply..

CPU voltage set to 1.54 and dont remember memory voltage but I did bump it up.
Timing is 2.5 3 3 6 2T Corsair Value Ram
Memory Speed 333 Mhz
HTx4
Sandiego Core
x11 multiplyer
250 Mhz HTAsus A8N SLI Bios 1013
Nvidia Driver 81.98
GPU Overclocked 495 core 1101 Memory

Based on your comments.. I should be able to start to lower my CPU voltage.. I will try tonight and see what I get... memory also.. i will try

Yeah I'd be interested to see if you can get your CPU voltage much lower - it'll help with your temps certainly. My OC is:

275mhz (333mhz) x10 multi and HTx4

My memory voltage is at 2.8v, but I think I can lower that a bit too -- I haven't gotten around to it.

My 7800GT is clocked at 450/1050, which is a bit lower than yours, but still doesn't explain my 3dmark05 score that's 600 points lower than yours (especially since you're at 2T). Like I said, I wouldn't be bitching about it except that I have had a couple of other strange system anomalies since I built it (before OC). Our MoBos are pretty similar - my deluxe should just have some extra connectors and such but be functionally equivalent. I just don't get it...

Seriously the 3dmark is a synthetic test.. means it is totally dependent on your video card. I bet if you over clock your video.. you will get the same..
