I am new here and I did a search, but couldn't find anything mentioned...

I stumbled across a website today called consoleclassix

They have a program that you download that allows you to play a ton of NES and Atari games for free.

Only downside is that you have to register and you need a net connection.

I have been playing Contra all day almost!

Feel free to yell at me if this is a repost.

Oh, and the Xbox 360 wired controller is easially mapped to the controls of the games. Though you have to use the joystick, not the d-pad for movement.

I have an assload of NES and SNES games on my Powerbook. I still love throwing down on some Mike Tysons Punchout and Chrono Trigger once in awhile.

Same thing on my Xbox. I love both of those along with firing up some Tecmo Bowl to impress the ladies! :p

There have been console games that have been ported to PC as well. The one I'm fond of that comes to mind are the Castlevania/Contra games that came out a few years ago on a cd meant for your PC.

Yes. There were quite a few made with emulators, for emulators.
Search around. Most sites that offer emulators also have those specific ROMS.
