*Get your FuseTalk avatars here (all of them!) * - Tweaked and resized.

Ok so a while back I asked people if they would be interested in having the Fuzetalk avatars resized to the default VB resolution of 80x80. This way they all look consistent and line up with all the custom avatars other people are using. Well little did I know the task I was making for myself. I spent WAY WAY too much time doing this. I tried first to convert them to vector format but I couldn't find any tools that gave satisfactory results. So I used GIMP to resize them and then had to spend a long time cleaning them up. I discovered something about these avatars, they were designed for a light background. All of them have a light gray to white border around them. This looks OK on a background like this or a white one but looks bad on a black background. So I spent a lot of time removing these borders (In case we get to change the theme colours at some point). Not all of them are perfect, some still need work on a dark background but most look OK. Also while I was at it I realized that there were a lot of missing avatars from Scouzers bunch [He's the one who posted the first batch] so I went on pics-bbzzdd and got lucky in finding an image showing all the old avatars. I also converted these. So bellow you will find a link to a zip file. The zip contains 3 folders. One for the regular avatars, one for avatars with borders, and one for grayscale avatars (just for fun). Oh and these are all now in PNG instead of GIF. They also all use a 50 colour colour pallet so they are smaller than the originals in file size.

Download the ZIP file.

EDIT: FUCK all that and I named the zip FruzeAvatars 😀

Here is what they look lie. Note that they are not perfect but this is about as best as I can do.

Note to mods: It would be nice if I could get this temporarily stickied for a week or so fro those who want to get these. If not that's fine too.

I sent Derek a message back when we were doing the original VB switch about doing this task. I proposed a redesign of all the avatars vs. a resizing since they are mostly the property of fusetalk vs. Anandtech.

I have not heard back about the issue from either Derek or the Legal department on the issue.

I redesigned nerdguy, default ipod dude, cow, and angry guy as examples.

I mention this because I don't know if AT can actively promote the use of the old fusetalk avatars legally.

Yeah probably not. Sucks you didn't read my mind and tell me about this before I started 🙁 😉

Locutus, those look like shit. Pixelated garbage for the lose.

Sigh yeah I know. About 1/2 way throuh I was going to give up but for some reason I just had to finish it. They actually looked a lot worse earlier 😀

I guess the lesson to be learned is never try as Homr Simpson says. :'(

They are licensed to FuseTalk. AnandTech has implemented the FT avatars that were not solely licensed to FuseTalk as they were designed by an AnandTech member.
