Thats odd, i downloaded and installed, and it immediately said to download and install .724...but no site has 724 and aol is still having issues logging on...

Actually, im starting to wear at this endless game of cat and mouse they are playing. I certainly can't recommend this to family and friends anymore, unless they want the hassled of it getting knocked off every week or so. Ah well, maybe I am tired. I'm going to bed and hopefully they will have this ironed out by the time i get home from work tomorrow. :frown:

as always, thanks for the mirrors :)

edit: also says that 0.724 is available.. cnet show's only 0.723 but if you continue to download, the file is indeed for 0.724.

I don't understand, is it really worth it to have to download a new version EVERY SINGLE TIME that Aol decides to block Trillian?

i dont do alot of IMing but just the fact you can be on aim, yahoo messenger, icq, msn, and irc is enough reason for me to use it. plus their are skins for it.. and no ads. :)

After the 2nd time that I got blocked I said screw trillian. All of my friends use AIM so an AIM boycot would only hurt me so I went back to AIM

0.723 worked fine, installed 0.724 and it died (flap) sooooo I guess it was just me reconnecting that killed my connection in the first place... (ie neither work)

i'll die before i ever download aim. my girlfriend keeps asking but i tell her to be happy with icq and msn. aol sucks.

and not to rant on but how is it legal for them to make it so their crappy software invades your computer like a virus and replicates itself into random folders all over your pc? you can be looking through your files and find "secret agent" aol software hiding out all over the place. f them.

There are *nix alternatives that can use the same network.

And aol's selling line was that this was an open IM platform. So much for that.

Actually, the other versions use some TOC protocol while Trillian uses AOL's. Apparently this is what's causing a lot of problems.

I'm able to connect with 0.723 atm...but I'll d/l 0.724 to see how it goes. With my trusty dial-up, I keep donwloading new versions of Trillian to stand up against AOL's monopoly! :)
