Obama sucked, but he didn't come close to the suckage of Trump. Unless a miracle happens, Trump's slam dunked the title of worst president ever. He focuses on the worst decision with laser like precision virtually 100% of the time, regardless of particular policy.

Don't get me wrong. I'm enjoying the chaos immensely. I'm entertained every day by the WTF coming out of DC, but am somewhat concerned about the future. Without a third conservative party with sane policies, Trump's gonna give us 20 years of 'progressive' bullshit, cause the Republican party's pretty much done. Not that they've been that great in a long time, but there was a spot or two of sanity amongst the idiots.

I don't think Obama sucked all that much. He definitely wasn't the shining beacon of change people were hoping for, but he brought back something that was missing with Bush Jr. and we lost again with Trump: having a mature, nuanced position. When Kaepernick made his protest, Obama acknowledged the complexity of the situation -- he understood why people would feel hurt, but also why Kaepernick felt it was necessary. Can you imagine any modern Republican acknowledging that complexity... in anything, really?

And frankly, the US needs more of that 'progressive bullshit.' It needs a society that doesn't treat LGBT people as outcasts; it needs politicians that actually respect science and understand that clean energy is a priority; it needs people who don't shriek like banshees at the thought of treating health care as an inalienable right instead of a luxury. Basically, it needs grown-ups instead of overgrown kids clinging to a mix of Ayn Rand fantasies and religious myths.
