Get rid of Vista Boot Manager at startup?

I was planning on setting up a dual boot XP / Vista, though Vista gave me an error half way through (as I expected, since I tried to install it on an external firewire drive ;) ). Now everytime I start my computer it comes up with an error saying Vista didn't load properly and 3 options to choose from: Earlier version of Windows, Windows, and Recovery (or something like that). I have to choose Earlier Version for it to boot into XP every time and it's starting to get on my nerves.

Any way I could fix this? I checked the boot.ini file and it's the way it's supposed to be. I also completely wiped the drive that had Vista on it (well, partially on it anyway).

Boot to your XP install disc and choose repair. Type fixmbr at prompt then say yes.
