I never heard that term either .. unless he means that it opens a window
over your currrent one, instead of just opening and sitting in the task bar
waiting for the user to select it

what i mean is that you type gmail.com, hit enter, switch to another window where you're working. when gmail loads up, its window automatically activates and comes to the front, even if you were working on, say, ms word in the background. its annoying. i'd rather have it flash in my tray when it wants attention, not be the whore it is now and just take over the screen- even if were minimized!

It's never done that for me. What browser are you using?

Under Tools / Options / Content, click the Advanced button next to "Enable JavaScript". Uncheck the option to allow scripts to raise or lower windows.

EDIT: FishTaco beat me to it.

Doesn't do it for me. If FishTaco's solution didn't work, mind telling me if it's offering you a security certificate, by chance?

I don't either. I'm just making sure something ...fishy... wasn't going on.

Loke, I would check the setting again to make sure its set. If it was set, I'd suspect a plugin might be interferring, so I'd then test without plugins.
