Get out the vote!

Let's show the world that we really do believe in DEMOCRACY and will VOTE as well as send troops to invade countries while pretending to be fomenting democracy. Our last presidential election was no showcase for democracy. Voting rates suck majorly. :) Do you want to live in a totalitarian regime? Then why don't you vote? This is one BIG thing you can do to make a difference.

Here's my suggestion:

1. In the next week, start asking people if they intend to vote. Try to talk to 10 people.
2. Offer to give a ride to anyone who you think might need one, whether Republican or Democrat.
3. Your local party can get you hooked up with other volunteers. DO IT. Walk the walk.
4. I don't know about Republicans, but for Dems you can sign up with MoveOn.org and get an effort going locally.

I'm a Precinct Captain here and will be seeing over 100 voters myself in the next week to 10 days. On election day we will be taking people to the polls. For Florida, this is an important day. We were the laughing stock of the nation last year. Let's do it right this year, regardless of who wins.

SUPPORT DEMOCRACY BY VOTING.

Well, I'm set to drive about 40-50 (maybe more, depends on traffic) elderly and handicapped Democrats to the polls, plus I'm going to be poll watching at a few local precincts.... so no funny business gonna go on there. I personally guarantee it. ;)

Also, I'll be contacting registered Democrats and encouraging them to turnout and vote. I'll also be knocking on doors and talking with people as well.

That's wonderful!

I know CAD and HS and CRIMSON will be helping to promote Democracy in their precincts and probably beyond, so let's all work to get out the vote. I know this sounds like preachy demagoguery to some, but voting is THE hallmark of a democracy.

Well I've been doing that but unfortunately all I run into here in New Orleans is the poor HOA Brainwashed souls and they all say they have to vote for The Fearless Liar since he is the only one that can save us and protect us from Terrorism.

Maybe that will change this week as instead of the normal morning dose of Neocon HOA Brainwashing this morning was a pair of Non Neocon Radio Talk Show hosts saying how they will be voting for Kerry.

I'm still shocked this Radio Station "Flip-Flopped" and dumped the local Neocon Talking Head.

Dave:

It's like being a salesman. For every 10 no's, you'll get one yes, particularly in the South. Southerners are conservative by nature, but on the other hand, most of them are polite to a fault. So, a polite discussion, soft pedalled can do wonders.

LA is an uphill battle though. My condolences. :)

Put a Kerry sticker on our car. First election ever that we've done that. Preaching mostly to the choir. :D

PAY IT FORWARD MAN

I'll keep trying, at least up until they start spouting how Bush is a child of God and Kerry is a spawn of Satan. These are Fanatical Church going folk that are drilled with this stuff every week from the pulpits.

One of them is a family member even  which is why I said I know how Isla feels.

Good luck, Tallest1. Keep the faith. Florida needs a good turnout. :)

Hang in there, Dave, anything is possible, and in America the impossible is probable. :)
