I tried to sell a bunch of old cd's both here and at a local Strawberries... Still had a bunch leftover and found this online site that bought all of them... 90 cd's for $193.00.
Site: Second Spin.
Shipped the cd's last week, got an email today saying they rejected 2 because of scratches, and that a check is on the way!

Their web site will give you the price they will pay, and there was only 1 or 2 cd's that I couldn't find in their database.

No, I don't have anything to do with that site, just turned a bunch of cd's that I had stored in boxes into cash. I did try several other sites, and this one seemed to offer the best prices.

Good deal for me!!
If you're interested, I'll let you know when I get the check.

the two cds that they said they will not accept because of scratches will they send those back to you. Also did u have to pay for shipping on the cds or did they. And how much did the shipping come out to; because 90 CDs is very heavy

that came out to a lil over $2 each cd

If you have an On Cue record store near you, they pay a flat $3 for CDs they don't have that are in good shape.

Kudos for SecondSpin,

I sold about 1500 CD's to them a few years ago when I was in a financial jam. Nothing like a check for a couple of grand to help you out. And I think I only had about 3 CD's rejected out of the whole batch.

Great store, and FAST turnaround!

These were cd's that the local stores turned down... no interest. I paid shipping... fedex ground was about 11.00. Granted, there are better deals, and I did sell some cd's at higher prices, but these were cd's that I could not get rid of. They offered to send the 2 scratched cd's back, but I told them to trash 'em, rather than pay shipping on something I don't want or care about. This was basically having somebody pay me 190.00 for cd's that I haven't listened to in 4 years or more, and that I couldn't sell anyplace else.
I guess this was kind of a last resort.... got some cash for some trash :)

ps... I did try and sell the entire lot in the for sale forum for $90.00 and had no takers.

I would be in a financial jam too if I had bought 1500 CDs.

Why not buy the diskdoctor($20) and sell them for (at least) $5 each on half.com.
I made over $500 selling 50 cds there.

did your CDs have jewel cases and liner notes? if it was just a loose CD, it would be worth very little on half.com and might take forever to sell

Disk Doctor is a CD repair device. There is a bunch of different ones, ranging from $0.99 to $30. Here is one at BB: One Such

I only needed it for two CDs, so I went with $0.99 kit (which is just paste and lint-free cloth), and it worked well enough for me to move the music to a CD-R. I am sure if you have a lot of scratched CDs, a $20 or $30 one will eventually pay for itself.

The only thing Diskdoctor did was completely ruin about 4 of my CDs. I "repaired" them, only to find that they would no longer even be recognized by a CD player. $30 to destroy $60 in music. THERE'S a hot deal.

Did you sell them in a large lot, or did you sell them each, one at a time... One at a time would be a pain wouldn't it? Having to ship 500 different orders? ugh... I am interested though in how you sold yours on half.com....

You think anyone would want to buy 90s glam stuff? I got so much slaughter and Poison and stupid crap like that I would want to sell. I'll keep my Zep, floyd, Stones and Who stuff, biut I can't bear to listen to the other.

Okay, I just checked. They'll still pay $2.00 bucks for Slaughter-Stick it To Ya--I'm sold.

Hey, GooberedUp
Think you could e-mail or pm me a list of your 90's glam stuff before you unload them to some dealer.
I'm still kinda stuck on that stuff and would like to fill in my collection.

If you read it again it is only 50 orders for $500. Half even gives a shipping allowance so that shipping is covered. It is actually cheaper to ship 1st class so you can use that as a buying point when listing your items. I also sold my old calculator that was sitting in the closet for $150 bucks.
