get cash from a check

Hi

I have a check and I would like to get cash from it but :
I don't have any account in usa because I am french.
I asked to bank of america but they dont want if I dont have a bank account.

And I tried in wal mart and they don't want beacause I don't have a social security number

Any other solution?

You can open a bank account by using your passport. Banks can do that. I am sure.

i took a bank of america check to bank of america and i dont have an account.

They cashed it without question. I think they have to.

And i dont want to open a bank account just for 2 or 3 check.

they'll charge 20%, but they don't care who you are, even if you stole the check, not a problem

elfa. Normally cash checking doesnt charge you like 20% like someone posted above. They'll usually charge you a few bucks (depending on the amount of the check). I think they charge around 3 to 5 dollars per 100.
