Get car checked before warranty expires?

My new (to me) car came with a pretty extensive intro warranty from the dealer for just 3 months. When this is nearing up, is it 'a thing' to bring your car to a place to get an inspection done to see if any work needs to be done while still under warranty?

I haven't had any problems with the car and don't notice any issues, but could it be worth 100 bucks for say a Post Purchase Inspection to take advantage of the warranty?

I think it is more common to have the car inspected before it is purchased. I am not sure why you would wait until it is nearly up. I would get it inspected as soon as possible. If something is wrong, it is best to catch it early regardless if it is covered by a warranty or not.

They really can't fix anything that isn't broken or you can't show them and anything else is wearable items not covered under warranty anyway. Unless you suspect something wrong I personally think it would be a waste of money.

I'd give them your VIN and ask if any service bulletins etc haven't been completed yet. Dealers get paid from the manufacturer to complete service work deemed necessary

I'd say why not?

The last warranty I had was on my harley. I paid for a 2 year extended warranty. I took it in for warranty work twice at the start and those repairs alone covered the warranty cost. Then 2 months before my warranty expired I took my bike back to the HD dealer, told the guy my warranty was almost expired and instructed him to have the bike completely gone through and to fix under warranty any issues covered.

Turns out I ended up needing close to 12k in repairs (parts / labor) and all was covered. Nice.

Before that when my extended warranty was almost up on my FX35 I took it to the dealer and said the same thing. Car needed a new sub frame and it was done on the warranty.

So yeah...I always do this and its worked out well.

/edit is it possible those dealers just milked the warranty company? Yes. Can I prove it? No. Did they do a ton of work on my vehicles and did I get back the bike and car in much better condition? Yes.
