im a little confused.

Is there a promotion code that you have to use on htc's website? Anyone know what it is?

For this particular promo (this weekend only), you use HTC100 as the promotion code. If you had registered on the HTC website before and received a personal code (USxxxx) then use that code (you also have until May 19th to purchase the phone and June 19th to mail the trade-in).

I probably have maybe 3 or 4 phones that I can trade in, should i be trading the best of those to htc?

This may depend on what phones you have (just choose the best combination possible), but for me it works exactly the opposite. HTC is more lenient on what phones are eligible for $100, so trade the worst one (which will still get $100) to HTC, and the rest to AT&T. I have at least two phones here who are 'recycled' at AT&T but will still get $100 at HTC.

So im debating whether or not this is a good idea for me. I guess I only have 3 phones that are eligible.

I have a Blackberry curve 8310 that I havent used in 3+ years. Its saying HTC will give me 100 for it. I havent turned it on in forever, and i think the battery is shot. Im pretty sure the phone is fine besides that, and htc doesnt ask about the battery....

I have a bold 9700 that is valued at $100 with ATT

I have a captivate that was my first android, and i still use occasionally. (some sentimental value there). Also valued at 100 bucks through ATT.

Assuming that all three get $100 dollars, Ill get the HTC one for $300+tax. 400+tax if they dont take my 8310. This would also restrict me to ATT, and we were thinking about switching to tmobile in the next few months.

Before hearing about this, I was just planning on waiting for the next nexus phone to come out. Ive heard a lot of people say the HTC one is an awesome phone - but i dont think I can deal with anything but stock android.

Not sure what I should do.

EDIT: I could also trade in just two phones (two blackberries), and then get the htc one for free with a 2 year contract. When we go to switch in a few months, I can just pay the termination fee, which is gonna be about ~300 dollars - which comes out to about the same deal as trading in all 3 and buying off contract.

EDIT2: As far as using both credits: You have to buy your htc phone BEFORE trading in, and they send you back money. ATT gives you credit towards a new phone about 4 weeks after you send in. So if you send phones in now to ATT, you might not get that money until after the 31st - which is when the promotion is over.

Can anyone share how long the credit is valid with AT&T? It says a minimum of 90 days, but gives no info on the expiration.

Hoping to trade in some old phones and use it for phones come the fall.

If it's a gift card it cannot expire in California. Might be a state to state thing.

The only way to do this if you are using HTC100 code is like Deeko did: trade-in phones for AT&T credit at the store and immediately buy the phone (there's still time on the west coast for this, I think). Then send the receipt and the other phone to HTC for the $100 Visa prepaid card.
