http://www.tweaktown.com/articles/a7v_clip/

Stuff like this really pisses me off.

Maybe I'm over reacting or i'm just wrong. But, this guy, Cameron Johnson, has found some problem with the clips on the Asus A7V and he posted some article about it.

However, the people at Asus, here lemme quote, "Asus Technical Support Division kindly asked us to remove this article while they are investiagting the problem further... "

Maybe i've been too influenced by the entire 60 Minutes/Smoking Industry incident, but if someone is gonna go some sorta journalism I feel that it is their RESPONSIBLITY to make the public aware of these corporate screwups.

The MB and processor aren't bought easily. They cost a decent amount of money. If there is something wrong that will destroy my investment and you discover it AND you decide to write about it, you've made it your duty to make the consumer aware of the product. You shouldn't take down the damn article because it will prevent you from getting friggin free hardware or because you will be frowned upon by this company.

I mean what the hell is this crap? It's pathetic, Asus sneezed and this guy and site bent over and dropped their pants.

Again, I appologize if I over reacted, but I have the Asus A7V and I don't know what the problem is but I have great difficulty installing the chrome orb and I whenver I install or uninstall the orb i always scrach off a thin layer of plastic.

This guy's article might help me protect myself from losing about $400 worth of cash that took a LONG time to save.

I'm not looking for a flame war, but I know that my reaction might have pissed some people off, so whatever you feel lemme know.

If you do side with me however, can you please email this guy and tell him he's wrong. His email address is as follows: sov1@dingoblue.net.au.

What problems are you having with the A7V and the Chrome Orb? I've helped a friend install his Chrome Orb onto his A7V and I've found it much easier to install the the GORB on my BH6...

Anyway, Tweaktown doesn't really know their stuff. They've recently reviewed an MSI Starforce 816 video card and claimed that the GeForce2GTS has a 256bit memory bus while the MX has a 128bit memory bus. They then claim that the Starforce's memory clock is at 116MHz, when its in fact at 166MHz. I emailed the reviewer about it and he admitted that the 116MHz value was a typo but didn't say anything about the memory bus mistake. Anyway, as of now the review is still unchanged and the 116MHz value is still there.

XYYZ,

The A7V does not have clips, maybe you are referring to the clips on the GORB. The plastic 'ears' on the mobo can break if too much pressure is applied by the heatsink clip. BTW Socket A has 2 extra 'ears' which so far HSF makers have ignored.
