For each $25 of gift card that you buy at Chili's, you get a $5 bonus card.

So if you buy $100 on a gift card, you get $20 bonus. (Just showing off - I'm a math genious).

20% off food isn't too shabby, especially if you would be eating there anyway.

(and if you go to the Chili's website, you can download a song by the Old 97s, an excellent underappreciated band)

A number of restaurants seem to be doing that this year. Moe's does it too, and Caribou Coffee was running a similar promotion. I think a few other places as well.

TGIFriday's were also offering this. I just want to know if you can buy a GC with a GC....if you can do that, you only need to buy 1 $25.

Scarpozzi, I am sure this is a loophole that they looked into, or else it would quickly run into thousands of dollars in losses.

doesnt seem like youre a spelling genius either.

oh by the way, math genius, it isnt a 20% discount either.

5/30 = 16.6666666667%.

It's actually a free $5 BONUS card... all kinds of limitations on it's use. I got one when I was in a Macaroni Grill a couple weeks ago, under the impression I'd be saving money by buying giftcards to pay for my meal. (apparently Macaroni Grill and Chili's are owned by the same company... )
The card has to be used between 1/1/2007 and 2/28/2007, you can only use 1 per visit, can't use it on giftcard purchase, etc.. don't remember anything else off the top of my head.
Still a good deal if you are going to be eating there anyways... but, not a GREAT deal.

Chili's=The Devil...

If there is nothing more that I hate is a company that doesn't do for their employee's what they do for them. :( Interestingly enough though, this isn't that bad of a promotion.

Facts:
1.$25 dollar gift card purchase get's you a $5 coupon good from 1/1-2/28
2.Has no cash value, but is a str8 $5 off your meal
3.Can not be used for gift card purchases
4.Just because you are using a gift card, doesn't mean your server's "tip out" is less, please tip on the original amount, not your modified amount after gift card use. :p
5.Gift cards and "Bounce Back" are redeemable at all Brinker establishments - Chili's, Maggiano's, Macorroni's, and On The Border.
6.All Brinker establishments are running the same promotion, so no need to go to Chili's for this promotion if you only like On The Border

On a side note, understand in 43/50 states server's make 2.13 an hour, at Chili's it is required that servers give at least 2.25% of their sales as a "tip out" to the busser/bartender. When you tip 10% your server will be lucky to see 7% of that. The standard is 15% for lunch and 18%-20% for dinner. Chili's no longer uses gratuity as a means to get more money from a guest, due to the fact that most people who "grat" do it on a subjective basis, and therefor Chili's chose to discontinue it to avoid lawsuits of stereotyping/discrimination.

Again, if you are going to get in on this "deal" please remember to tip your server well. :)
