Quote:

"Last December, Tageszeitung newspaper reported that over 80 German companies were listed in Iraq's weapons report to the UN.

Several of these were still involved in Iraq last year, thereby breaking the UN weapons embargo.

Of further embarrassment to Germany is that - according to the newspaper article - German companies make up more than half of the total number of institutions listed in the report. "

Let's not forget that France is Iraq's top import partner, according to the CIA World Fact Book.

Bah, you lie. Everyone knows that the Great Satan is the only country that ever acts out of its own economic self-interest. France & Germany are nations of philosopher kings, seeking only to spread peace and joy to their fellow man.

After all, they have a history of aggressive behavior.

Plus, they haven't disarmed! (or have they?)

and don't forget the Russians have millions and millions invested in Iraqi's oil fields, including many Russian oil companies that currently deal with Iraq.

And you wonder why France, Germany and Russia all will veto a new resolution authorizing military force.

Weren't there american companies on the list also?

I have to run, but here's one list of what the US government gave to the Iraqis during the 80s

"The Receipts" that Bush has to prove Saddam has bio weapons

I'll dig around later and find the list of companies doing business with Iraq.

uhhh, most of those were antibodies and non-virulent strains.

Also, it's not up to Bush to prove Saddam has bio weapons, it's up to Saddam to prove he doesn't. Do you not understand that?

Didn't Iraq buy brewing equipment from Germany?

You can brew antharax just as easily as you can brew beer. Airasolizing it is the toughest part, especially without killing the people working with it.

Could the Old Die Spinne/Kameraden/Odessa Network be involved in all this? A closer and deeper look into those companies presidents and CEOs as well as Major Stock holders might reveal that some of these people to be old SS/sympathizers with a grudge to bare against israel still.

Worth looking into anyways.

I don't think many people would dispute that at all. In order to comply with 1441, Saddam has to prove that he is cooperating and disarming.

However, if the US wishes to wage war without a UN mandate, the burden of proof is on Bush and Co. to prove that Iraq is enough of a threat to justify unilateral action. Do you no understand that?

I completely understand, but the US is not moving on this unilaterally, that is just media nonsense. Britain, Isreal, Turkey (read how they have amassed 10K troops at their border today), Kuwait, Qatar and today 12 European nations have all thrown their support behind military action. Now, explain to me how this is a unilateral decision by the US.

edit: 1441 doesn't say military action can't be taken.

two comments: First of all I am 100% German. My Dad flew P-47s and P-51s against his ancestors during WW II. He has visited cemeteries in Europe to see the graves of his fallen comrades. He has frequently "compared notes" with Luftansa pilots (well some years ago, he's 80!) and run acrcoss gentlemen who he would have been up against. I have NOTHING against with the German people. It is the utter HIPPOCRACY of their government to delcare unequivically that they will NOT go to war under ANY circumstances. The German economy is is the toilet worse than ours. Schroeder's critic's say he is using the "peace" initiative to draw attention away from the way the economy sucks.

Secondly it is NOT the inspectors job to play "find the weapons". Saddam continues to hold to his position of "ain't got 'em, they're gone". This should be an interesting stand for him to maintain next week after Colin Powell addresses the Security Council.

It is, and has been all along, incumbent upon Iraq to PROVE the weapons in question were destroyed. And if they still have 'em, 'fess up and drive the damn things on trucks right up in front of where the NATO inspectors are staying!!!!!
