C. Powell stated on Friday that the German intelligence community has provided the United States with information about Syrian WMD, and terrorist cells. Isn't it funny how the world of politics changes. A month ago, they backed Iraq (for money), and now the back the United States (for money). The French sold Iraq nuclear technology, and now they are our friends again (for money lost). While I haven't seen a clear money trail for the U.S. , I'd be naive to think there wasn't one somewhere.

A question I have always had, is why in Africa is it different? Some African nations are permitted to kill millions every couple of years. Is it because they don't have oil, cable T.V., or money? Is it that terrorists from those nations are less effective? Or is it that most nations in the West, stand to lose little in the ways of money or homeland security, if the whole continent goes kaput. Sad but possibly true.

On a side note: is Germany being bamboozled by France? I mean, everything the french do, the germans follow. The germans seem to be france's b!tch, especially in the EU.

I'm glad to see I'm not the only one who has though about this.

You really don't hear about South America and Africa much these days (or ever really, that I've noticed). Neither country is a real threat to US interests in the country wide sense (ie. Iraq, Syria, NK etc can as a country pose a threat to the US and it's allies). Any subversive or terrorist attempts aimed at the US and its interests in those areas are probably taken care of quietly since there isn't a huge need for diplomacy for countries that change leaders with the seasons.

You have the UN handling Africa, I thought they were the perfect body to handle situations like this, are you now saying they are not doing a good job?
