Pretty cool idea imo, and I think they actually did a really good job at not making it look cheap despite the price. If they get it available, I think they might actually have a bit of a hit; though I kind of wonder how many people still 'just' read these days, or rather would be happy with a 'just' reading device.

I am/would be. Have a Kindle 3/Keyboard, and use it purely as a reading device. Think when I first got it I briefly played with the web browser, but haven't started that up in probably over a year.

And I still like to read on my lunch breaks. I also leave early to avoid traffic, so I can sit in my car before work, and just read. I even tend to read for 10-15 minutes AFTER work, because I've found that I get home at roughly the same time either way because traffic is considerably lighter. The Kindle 3 works great for that, and I'm still waiting for the local Best Buys to get some of the new Paper White models on the floor so I can see if I want to upgrade.

That being said... Not sure even at $13 I'd get one of these things. Not a fan of disposable batteries, there was some kind of mention of needing an Android device as well, plus it sounds like the display used is like from the first or second gen Kindles.

That sounds pretty awesome, to me what matters now is what files it supports and if you can load your own ones.

For that price its a last minute pickup at the train station.
