We went to college night yesterday (we are in California). Harvard, Duke, Georgetown, and U of Penn gave us slide presentation. Georgetown looked interesting.

anyone here attends (or attended) can give me your opinion? academic, social, scholarships, whatever..

thanks

Well...

My sister went to Goucher College back when it was all-girls still and it is close to Georgetown! 😀 I only got to visit as a punk kid sister but I thought it was a really neat place to be. I know they have quite a party in the streets of Georgetown on Halloween weekend... it's been years and I still haven't forgotten Gumby and the Walking Penis.

I don't know what to tell you about the academics, but you would be really close to some awesome cultural resources like the Smithsonian, etc.

Then again, living all my life in the cultural wasteland that is Florida (Home of Spring Break 😛 ) I would be impressed by those things.

One of my (former) teachers wife is the assistant dean of academics there. He took us on a 'field trip' to get a tour of the campus, see the sights, and take a look at his house. I got the 200-2001 Student Handbook. It looked really good, and it is the most selective(not the right word, but best I could think of) of all the Catholic universities. It is very good for IR(int. relations) and uhhhhhhh... damnit, some other things that are skipping my mind ATM. 😉 I'd pick up(or at least look at) The Fiske Guide to Colleges. It gives a 3-4 pages summary of every aspect of almost every college in the US. Sorry I couldnt help you more. 😱
