This is a classic...I just read the Toronto Star today and they said that in one episode of This Hour Has 22 Minutes, those crazy comedians ask George W. about his views on Prime Minister Jean "Poutine" (for Americans...poutine is a quebecois food...french fries with gravy and cheese). Anyway, apparently he doesn't see anything wrong and goes on about how he has the greatest respect for us Canadians;)

Kinda makes me wonder what the phone conversation between Cretien and Bush was really like...now THAT would be a classic;) Apparently they did some calculations about how long it would take for them to earn as much money as Alex Rodriguez...500 years. Somehow, I think Cretien did the calculations;)

Heh. If you listen to the media, Dubya loses no matter which country he chooses for his first foreign-relations experience. Traditionally, it's Canada for a new pres. but speculation is he'll opt to fly to Mexico first.

Question: is "Poutine" an endearment to, or a disparagement of your Prime Minister? :)

As GL said, poutine is a Quebecois creation. (French fries, with cheese curds and gravy.) I think they used it because: 1) Jean Cretien is from Quebec, and 2) most people have no idea what poutine is.

George Dubya used to fly an F-102 jet fighter/intercepter. Which of you rocket scientists could fly one?

Even Al Gore can't. His daddy's assigned body guards wouldn't have fit.

UG we all could fly it with propper training.

Bush should know something about the world, at least he lives in it, we think. Bush has been out of the country 2 times, both times in Mexico, just had to point that out.

In icelandic we would call him "heimskur" which rougly translates to stupid, but the original meaning is the one who stays at home and never gets to see the world, and therefor is rather stupid.

Czar;

I've been around the world a couple times -- on each continent, most more than once, and Greenland, too. That doesn't make me qualified to be president.

Few of us live in other coutries long enough to really get to know them. Few od us live in more than one. Visiting countries isn't nearly enough to really get to know them, and not visiting other countries isn't very much different.

How many Icelanders have been to the US and really know precisely whom we should elect President?

;)

I´v to been around alot, mostly just all around europe, but europe has much much more different cultures than the US has, europe has alot longer history naturaly. I just hope bush doesnt look at the rest of the world from his "only" experiance with the outside world.

There are about the same amount of icelanders living in US and Canada as there are in Iceland. We have made an incredable impact on center northen US and center Canada, far more than anyone would hope to belive. I´m still surprised.

About the amount of people who to elect as president I have no idea, about the same as the US I guess, less than 50% ;)
