Looking good so far. He even included a YouTube video side by side comparsion in HD.
Lulz, the Blu-Ray where they added the rock in front of R2-D2.

That's not bad at all. And it doesn't even begin to approach the level of awful of the special edition CGI.
If you say so, slick.
Id have to agree with him, actually. I don't see anything in it that the average person would notice. Now I assume your profession has something to do with graphics design, or movie editing. If thats the case, props to you for noticing slight lighting issues, blurriness, or the lack thereof.
Id bet that 95% of people given that picture would never notice the issue. Right?

It's a shame that so much was added/changed that detract from the original, because apart from that it looks damn good. Everything actually shot with real cameras have so much detail that all of the sub par c-gen added in the late 90s really distracts you.
So... in plain English....
Should I guy the blu-ray?
Yes or No?
I saw it playing at Walmart and damn it looks sharp. It was similar to watching Star Wars when it was re-released into the theaters. Just amazing how much sharper it looked on the big screen and blu-ray than what I was used to seeing over all these years on VHS and DVD.

star wars, in its original form and condition, was crap. how about the glaring spliced film surrounding fighters? and the lightsabers looked pretty weak too.

The originals are amazing. At the time especially.
However if I'm given a choice between watching the original and the re-mastered ones I'll pick the remastered ones each time. I know that they added a few things like the guys on the sand dunes instead of just the skeleton but for those that are younger you wouldn't even know the difference and the remastered version looks 10x better.
