I wanna know how they are planning on making 50-60 "episodes" out of 35 minutes of coolness and an hour and a half of some snot nosed turd whining about how love is a key part of being a jedi.

lucas probably watched some of the crappy cartoons being broadcast and figured he could do better. Good for him.

I for one think that this has the ability to actually go far. Depending on how GL does this, I think he can make a really good cartoon out of it. Personally, I'm thinking of something more along the lines of Starship Troopers: Roughnecks, going about it as a story arc, as opposed to a cartoon of Ep. 2 itself. Just think of it, a chance to see the "official" story of how the battles and politics in between the major events(movies) went. GL isn't as dumb as people say he is, and I think this'll give him the chance to prove it.

Watch, he'll cave and the clones will have to run around and catch "clonites" which are little creatures that provide their power. Basicly a rebadged pokemon cartoon, just like the new transformers.

yeah, I actually think this could actually turn out well. Esp. if they make it a bunch of side stories instead of just rehashing the plot of the movie. And if it's done with style.

Yeah, WTF is up with that. I saw a commercial on Cartoon Network and I thought to myself cool, they are playing old Transformer reruns from the eighties. Then I started to watch it and it made me sick to my stomach!!! Total crap!!! I want my eighties cartoons!!! He-Man, G.I.Joe, The Transformers. That stuff was the sh!t

I have to wonder how old some of these George Lucas bashers are. I've been following him since he was doing student films. Anyone remember the breadth and depth of science fiction films before those days? 90% or more of science fiction films were simply forgettable, poorly executed crap, you were lucky if there was an interesting premise once in a while.

Aside from greatly enjoying his films, I admire his contributions to the development of a genre.
