Thats kind of offensive to our troops, not just George Bush. I don't think using pictures of our troops in flag draped coffins to make a political statement against our President is the right thing to do. The fact that you posted it tells me a lot about you too.

You think I care what you think? I don't.

Do you care that you are using dead American soldiers to make your political points?

It is always best to hide the unpleasentness of war when you are trying to sell one. Too many people don't think about caskets when they think about war. Whether a war is just or not, it always involves causing the other guy to spend more blood and treasure than he is willing to give up. It is certainly worthwhile to remember that that is what he is trying to do us as well. All wars have such costs to all parties and it is prudent to consider this when deciding whether the cost is worth any realistic ends. Showing coffins is not at all degrading, but represents a truth about war to the uninitiated and a reminder to those are.

They're dead.

I think it's important that people understand the real consequences of this war, a war we didn't have to fight.

We didn't have to fight Vietnam either.. or Korea.. Or Panama, or Gulf War I, or WWI and WWII for that matter.. one could have argued we should have just minded our own business in all of those wars.. The threat is just different now, its not a huge army which is easily identifyable..

Remember, just because YOU think the war is unjustified, doesn't mean the rest of the country thinks so.. You can repeat it all you want.. it doesn't change the fact that a lot of people both agree, AND disagree with you.

We're veering off-topic here. The issue was (and still is) the use of dead soldiers to make a political statement against the war, which the Right Wing seems to feel is "incorrect". Fine. I will remember this thread the next time a right winger tries to slam the other side of the aisle for playing the "PC" card.

Well, you were attacked in WWII so I would said you haid to fight that war... Remember, just because YOU think the war is justified, doesn't mean the rest of the country thinks so..

Those who think war is about pride and glory has never seen a battlefield. It's about death and destruction, showing the public what it is like isn't a bad thing, it will make people think twice before they cheer at the "fireworks" on FOX news.

Do you think it is as offensive as using pictures of 9-11 victims to make a political statement for the President?

That clip sucked. That "hole" that Bush ran to wasn't even the right hole. What else was inaccurate there? I can count three things. Anyone else?
