George Foreman grills...

Kadarin

Lifer
Last night was my first experiment with one of these.. I bought a "next generation" one that had an adjustable temp and timer, and cooked some kind of steak. Sadly, it came out "well done", of which I'm not a huge fan.

Tonight I attempted my second experiment: After marinating some steak, I lowered the temp and kept a closer eye on the meat as it was cooking. This time, it ended up medium well, and quite yummy.

These things have some serious potential.. Tomorrow night I'll try pork.

Watch out! As soon as the non-stick surface starts to come off it will start ripping your food in half. I have had several grills and after about a year the surface wears out. No I don?t use brillo pads on them.

Absolutely. I love(d) cooking with my small one when I was on my own, but cleaning it can be a real b!tch.

That's what I still have but I agree I want to get the one that has a removable top and is full sized.

Burgers come out great on that thing!

They have a limited lifespan, but then again they are only $20 for the cheap ones.

I used to love Foremans, but now I have a Le Creuset cast iron grill pan and it's a lot easier to use and clean.

What the hell are you using to clean yours? My wife and I have had one for a couple years now and there is nothing wrong at all with the non-stick surface.

Brillo pad?

I don't know, it's a teflon surface like every other pan out there, no? The one I used to have worked well for years and I never saw any damage to the teflon. I have gone through several teflon coated frying pans...

all you need to do is wet a paper towel and everything comes right off....

The (boneless) pork chops I cooked came out fantastic...

Now I need to go to the store and buy some more meat..

I have been quite satisfied with mine since purchasing it. Bacon is also fantastic on these things🙂

i have been thinking about getting one of these.. the potential of just being able to whip out burgers is tempting.....

anyone have an opinion if it is good for just like, whipping up a patty, slapping a piece of cheese on it, then putting it in between buns?

How does that work out? Does it cook from both sides? How long do you leave them on the griddle plates for?

I love mine. I'm not a very good cook, but I can make some mean food on my George Forman. (And it's quick and easy.)

Yep, love my George Foreman grill. It's an original. I've had it for about 5 years now, and still works like new. 🙂

I did end up flipping it once because obviously the top grill was not able to make good proper contact. The fact that the grease drained into the little dish was the best part. No splatter whatsoever and the bacon was just plain ole yummy!

Cooked it on the high setting for about 10 min each side:thumbsup:
