I just bought one of those grills today at Target. Trying to make some hamburgers right now.. but they're coming out really dry. I've coated the grill with some Pam spray oil and following the instructions of grilling the meat 7 minutes. Second burger.. 4 minutes, but it's still dry as hella! :disgust: What am I doing wrong?

BTW, anyone have any special recipes or anything for the grill??

I think thats the point, all the fat drains out. Fat is what make a burger juicy

Ours dried out too, it's because it's a "fat reducing" grill... Just put some more moisture related things (BBQ sauce, onions?, maybe a little flour on the burger before throwing it in..

i think its the meat you're using, and not the grill. the grill doesn't reduce fat very much. and only when compared to a fry pan. even in a fry pan the fat mostly comes out of the burger and spreads over the rest of the pan, it doesn't just sit in the fat. and a real grill the fat drops into the coals anyway. plus i've had juicy burgers off of there. use 80% lean.

It is not the grill drying out your meat! Don't overcook

btw: it is nonstick so no oil/spray needed :)

edit: oh yeah, burgers, steaks, porkchops, and chicken cook fast on these suckers.

double edit : This thead made me hungry, going to make some burgers :) meat/little bbq/diced onions/diced bell peppers...mix em up and yum yum!

pork & chicken tastes funny on this... i dunno how to discribe it but it's weird :D

only thing it's good for is Burgers, Hotdogs, Bacon, Warming up Ribs after you bbq em (put more bbq sauce on em and re-heat)...
Fish and chips from the box was good too on the grill I tried to make
