Geometry Wars: Waves has gone gold!

September 13, 2007 - Today Microsoft and developer Bizarre Creations announced Project Gotham Racing 4 (PGR4), the latest installment in the long-running racing franchise, has gone gold. Development is complete and the final code is being sent to the manufacturing plant for duplication in anticipation of the game's October 2 release.

The official PGR4 Website is also up and running, containing a full vehicle and achievement list.

Included with the retail PGR4 disc will be Geometry Wars: Waves, the latest edition of the psychedelic shooter. Originally packed into the PGR3 disc, Bizarre Creations is continuing the tradition with Waves, an entirely new way to play the game. Look for IGN's preview later today.

I don't want PGR4 but I want to try out the new Geometry Wars

Wait wait wait...the original Geo Wars was in PGR2. Geo Wars: Evolved (demo) was in PGR3. (Both through the garage) What part of "Waves" was on the PGR3 disk?

Holy mother of god, has anyone seen these videos? Now I know why they called it "Waves". It sure takes care of the whole flying-in-a-circle strategy .

few things that piss me off.

1. It doesn't look like there is a leaderboard (if you watch the intro menu before he starts it just says "Normal, Extreme, Back" but who knows)

2. I don't like how easily the score goes up. That guy got over 1 million in a matter of seconds.

3. You have only 1 life. I think that it's going to be more of a "mini-game" than GW:RE

2 and 3 may also be just that "extreme" mode that is selected.

I also think I hold the record score on AT for Geometry Wars

If what you stated is true, then they are sure to release a more full featured game on XBLA sometime later this year, maybe even with multiplayer. Geometry Wars Galaxies is set to release on the DS and Wii in a couple of months, maybe they'll release this around the same time.

I haven't played it in ages heh, I stopped when I saw the leaderboards got to over 100 million lol.

I only broke 3 million like 3 times.

I'm going to deviate a bit but I'd rather not make a new thread on this. I finally got that Survivalist achievement in geometry wars, but I used the trial to get it (since it has the timer) as I have the game in the arcade unplugged thing. Well the thing is, it didn't award me the achievement after I bought the game from the proper menu (where it says blah blah you need to buy it or you'll lose this achievement).

The fact that I tend to mess this up a lot (being too indecisive on reacting), I'd rather just get my achievement (10 points is serious business!) Any way to get it credited to my account?

Geometry Wars makes me go insane. I got up to 1.7 million before I just couldn't handle the amount of stuff coming at me. I now have every achievement except the 10x multiplier one. I haven't practiced this game in a while, but I doubt I'll be able to beat 3.5 million

I wonder how in the hell people get over like 200 million? Are they taking steroids? It's just not possible!
