GeoGuessr: Time Waster of the Day

7318 and no using google to find where certain phone numbers are located.
Guess Brazil in one spot and it was Portugal so that really hurt (saw a random street sign in Portuguese).
 
first one was easy. second one is nothing but a straight road with flat farm land on each side as far as the eye can see. unless i come to a town ill never figure it out.

Fun game, some are easy, others a little harder. At one point it stuck me on a pedestrian bridge with no way to move in any direction, so I couldn't try to read a sign to figure out the native language.

I don't know how much Google searching is considered acceptable... the first one was clearly in the American west, but when I saw that all the cars had rear license plates only, I looked up which states didn't require front plates, and the only desert states with no front plates were Arizona and New Mexico, so I was able to get close just by guessing in the middle of the two. On one there was a name of a landmark clearly printed on a sign, and I looked up the landmark and got it close. Don't know if that's considered "cheating" or not.

Yeah at one point I ended up inside what appeared to be an aquarium type place. I couldn't find my way out.

Completely depends on your locations.

3 of mine I got within 50 km, really easy. Then two were single lane roads in the middle of nowhere. Roads went on for miles in each direction with nothing. No road signs. From vegetation/geography I could limit it to some degree, but they were still complete guesses. I suppose I could have traveled down the road until I found something that gave it away, but I don't think that's the point.

Mistaking Portugese for Spanish threw me off, two of my locations had Sinclair gas stations and one had a flag , the other had a shipping container with a .kr website and there were Hyundais everywhere.

Really cool time waster indeed.
 
accidentally closed the tab the first time i played, second time i got some road in the middle of no where heading straight north with nothing on the horizon. guessed australia. it was montana. so, completely missing one still got 12776
 
Fun stuff. A few games in, seems like my average is around 11k with no googling.

3 of 4 times I've guessed Mexico and it's been Brazil.
 
sweet game

8512 . hit one dead on in hawaii, a couple close ones in Scandinavia and texas instead of colorado.

then 2 that were really off. africa vs australia and pac. northwest vs finland
 
ok i guess its not so hard if you tool around for a while looking for a proper noun, then googling it.

i nailed blue ridge platinum mine and the dehcho bridge in canada to under a KM on the 2nd try. kills the competitive nature of it, but still engaging

Heh, my last one had a Portuguese sign and I also guessed Brazil and had the opposite luck. Turned out to be my closest guess, <100km.
