Don't spend too much time/money at Grapevine Mills. I haven't been to the Gaylord yet, but the pictures looked pretty good.

It's a pretty spectaular place (and expensive... morning breakfast in the Riverside Cafe was $18/per for a buffet...) Rooms are what you'd expect in a decent hotel. The grounds and the design are what makes this place stand out from others!

Sounds nice ...

My wife travels international all the time and usually stays in places like the Intercontinental ... 5***** joints ...

When I visited her in Chile last month, we stayed at a really, really super nice place ... the Plaza el Bosque Suites. It was a reasonably sized apartment with a small Kitchen, nice sized Living Room, Bedroom with king size bed, and a spacious Bath. (Lots of fine woods, marble and brass/gold) It included maid service ... including washing the dishes after we cooked lunch or dinner. We rarely saw her around but the room was always spotless whenever we made a mess and returned. (a wonderful buffet breakfast was included in the daily rate). The rooftop was split between a restaurant/bar (where breakfast is served in the mornings and becomes a bar in the afternoon and evening) and a very nice sized swimming pool that had big moveable glass doors so that it could be either inside or outside depending on the weather. Waiters provided drink service at the pool! The pool was equipped with "waves", a large section of jets so one could swim "in place" and lots of small jets like a hot tub. The basement included a wonderful spa complete with masseurs and all manner of exercise equipment, steam room, hot tubs, etc. The price was an incredible $100US/day for the room. Incredibly reasonable for a super place. There was even a shuttle bus service provided by the hotel that went downtown every 30 minutes or so and, of course, doormen to open doors, push elevator buttons, and such.

None of you really want to know about the place we stayed at in Hong Kong in December. It made the place in Chile look like a pauper's home but, of course, it wasn't $100US/day either.
