Looking for a 4U or a 2U... don't think I can afford the guts for a 1U... Got one? Know where to get a good deal on one? LMK! Been tooling around a computergeeks and ebay (some interesting deals there.... found a couple of complete Dell servers that were cheaper than must buying the case empty... go figure!.

Drooool 🙂

Nice one Geoff 😀
If you buy 2 and dont have the space, please send one my way 😛

How do these 4U units work? You can put multiple boards in there? Do they hook up through 1 PSU, or do you/can you put in more than one PSU in the unit?

I have 5 motherboards in frankenstein states. They are all atx, could I condense them into this unit?

Thanks
Martin

4U just means it's just big.... still only one board... more room for more drives I guess. With a 4U (and with a 2U to some extent) you can use standard parts like regular ATX PSUs and hs/fans... with 2U there are some size issues... with 1U there are definately space (read: height) issues in packing your components in there. My feeling also with the larger cases (4U, 2U) is that cooling is more easily controlled than in the 1U... but that's just a gut feeling...

It's looking like it's a lot of hassle though... create a company... register with the IRS & state tax bodies... town clerk... blah blah blah...
