They're linear, not a V. It's not like a V-3 which would be unbalance. Just 3 cylinders in a line. And it runs real wussy-like. Sound and fury when you press the gas, but butterfly wing acceleration.

they cant even get out of their own way...believe me, I know , I own one...however the 47 mpg is rather nice

I don't have high standards for automotive performance, but I generally prefer my top speed to at least numerically exceed my fuel economy.

hehe..

I have an 82 VW truck with a 50hp Diesel 4cyl. Milige between 35(way worst) and 50mpg. I've been passed by metro's. But mine has 545K on it and is still trucking......

Very curious to see how that 1.0L I-3 drives. I've driven the Enterprise Rent-a-car 1.3L I-4 version and even that thing can't get out of its own way. 3 speed automatic means that travel at 70mph (yes, I did get it up there) produces thunderous engine sounds. Top speed must be 85-90.
