What you guys think? I'm having trouble finding this Genuine Honda Automatic Transmission Fluid ATF-Z1 shit online. I am not too sure what is the equivalent of it from off the shelf though.

Any suggestions my darlings?

.. go to the honda dealer.

Call the parts department, also call Acura you might find it cheaper there.

You don't have to use that seller, I just got a checkout total of about $43 including shipping for 3 quarts from amazon. Ebay has it for $36.49 including shipping for FOUR quarts. These are all on the first page of Google product search, nothing fancy.

How many quarts do you need? It looks like MSRP for it is about $ 7-8 a quart, so Honda dealer should have something close to that.

And in general, fluids are expensive online, obviously because of shipping.

Valvolines Maxlife meets honda specs. I have used in in several hondas for drain and refills and worked fine.

Read the bottle and if it does not say it meets the specs for thet car/truck don;t use.

I would only use the factory fluid. Transmissions are engineering master pieces and Tranny fluid has many different characteristics/properties. Pretty complex stuff imo, and from my experience.

Handa is the place to go for fluids. There are other places that charge a tiny bit less for the fluid, but Handa's shipping is usually more than enough cheaper to make it a better option.

Plus I get their "ground" shipments in 24 hours due to proximity. :)

Went to a local Honda dealership and they had a parts section and it was pretty quick and easy. $7 + tax per 1 bottle. Not bad at all. I think it came out to 30.30 for 4 bottles. I have two left over from changing the ATF. They have a decent deal on oil change stuff too. 4 liters of blend synthetic oil, Honda OEM oil filter, washer... $20 + tax. Way cheaper than going out and buying 5 liter jugs of Mobil 1 Full Syn + NAPA Gold oil filter. ($25 and $8 before tax respectively)

Changed air filter today too, yay me.

Buy when its on special that = 30 bucks for filter and 5 quarts of oil.

I always buy my oil on special.

This. I got 5qts of Valvoline synth and a Mobil1 filter for $28.

Also, blended oil is probably a waste of money. Could be 30% synthetic, could be 1% synthetic. I'm betting closer to 1% synthetic.
