I'm 23, I'm bipolar, I'm bisexual, I'm out spoken, loved and hated. People find me sarcastic, funny but also arrogant and irritating. I have no memory of my life and as a result I live every second in the moment without looking forward or looking back.

On this forum I'm not exactly popular, you guys can be objective and unbiased when I ask this.

Is the world better off without me?

I'm not looking for posts, I'm not looking for attention or a therapy session with this thread, I'm looking for poll votes.

IRL I'm a more under-exagerated version of my persona on here. I do sometimes bring people down, but it's rare, and generally unintentional.

Yeah I'm waiting to see a psychologist, It's taking a while, i've been referred but I need to see a specialist. I definitely have some kind of amnesia but currently no official diagnosis.

On the scale that presumably actually matters to you (your family, your town, the people you know) generally speaking, there are very few people without whom the world would be better off. Very, very few.

You are probably not one of them.

A lot of the bipolar folks I knew in college got themselves in trouble by not taking their medication as instructed. Be careful with that; keep taking it as instructed even if you're in having a good day/week. Remember to take care of yourself physically, too. Sleep once in a while. Don't forget the condom. Shit like that.

Some of those guys... man... this one dude would self-medicate with drugs or alcohol, go on a three-day video game bender, then compose a symphony and get a girl pregnant all in the same week. (That last thing happened twice... he still writes music.)

Those were the days.

im not personally qualified to answer that question and nobody else here is.

you would need a massive effort for the world to collectively judge whether they would be better off without you.

to have the whole world pause for a minute and be like, hmm lets make a life or death decision for HAL would not be worth their time. so the meat of the discussion isn't whether HAL needs to live or stop living, its just that hes an insignificant peon like the rest of us.

Well, then if it's at all relevant; we all liked him, even those of us (like me) who could only take him in small doses. He was a good dude, just really intense. Really, really intense.

Good luck with that - getting the medication "right" is the hard part. Especially when you're young and your condition is still sort of developing.

I wouldn't dismiss aspergers so quickly. Maybe not full on aspergers, but you definitely have at least a mild case. For example, are you aware that a thread like this makes people uncomfortable? Now that I've told you it does, do you agree?

^^ Pretty much this. You're just... weird. I can't trace you out at all.
Discussions usually have two sides -- the For's and the Anti's; but with you around there enters a third side: one that's yours and yours alone. Both the For's and the Anti's jump on you to try to figure out what the hell is going on with you, and neither ever manages to pin you down. So just being weird and engaging makes you a lightning rod for everybody's attention.

Consistent unexplainable weirdness is annoying.
